Change cli login prompt?

Is it possible to change the Slackware 9.0 cli login prompt from 'hostname:' to 'login:' ?
I've modified /etc/issue /etc/ and /etc/motd to suit my needs, but I would also like to remove the hostname from the cli login prompt.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's work of the getty that you are using in /etc/inittab, probably doesn't have a rc file for this but maybe you can change it including some options in the inittab ...
