centralized logins without PAM or NIS

Hey guys.

I'm trying to setup my Slack servers (3 of them, plus 1 Debian server) to centrally login to my samba server (running on slack). From what I have read samba wants pam to do this, and slack (well pat actually) wants nothing to do with pam. is there a way to setup samba as the main backend for everything?
