cdrom isnt /dev/scd0 anymore?

I recompiled my kernel 2.4.21 last night and before my cdrom was /dev/scd0 and now I have to use /dev/sr0? Did I miss something when I compiled the kernel? I used my .config from 2.4.20(which worked fine)? Thanks for any help
