I agree that cdrecord is excellent. I've never had any coasters. As stated k3b et al use cdrecord anyway. You can see exactly what is happening, and I usually set the speed as slow as possible.

Thanks Urka58 and others for info in here. I just burned my first CD ever under Linux, using cdrecord from the command line, with easy and complete success; and I now have another Linux ISO to add to my small collection. No coaster!

PS - I was certain I already posted this thank-you note somewhere, but I can't find it, so I must have imagined it. I hope this isn't a dupe
