CD Player won't play music CD's

Hi all!

Can somebody help me with next problem - my CD rom plays all CD's except music CD's.

It plays DVD and PC's cd roms, but no music type of CD's.


BTW, I'm using Slack 10.1, kernel 2.6.11 and start Linux with Grub.

You play music CDs with an application - what have you tried? (i.e. xmms) And with what result?

Do you have a cable attached from the CD reader to your soundcard? If not, try using the CD player plug-in of XMMS with it's input set to digital instead of analogic.
