ccsm Slackware 13 compiz-fusion

Hi,

Running Slackware 13 and really like it. I enjoy some of the eye candy provided by compiz, so installed it. I pretty much followed the steps detailed here:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...fusion-752803/

Everything is outwardly functioning on my computer. Fusion-icon allows me to change windows managers and so forth, emerald comes up and lets me define themes. Wavy windows, spinning crate, that sort of stuff.

But, when I try to run ccsm, I get the following:

Code:
Info: No sexy-python package found, don't worry it's optional.
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/local/bin/ccsm", line 100, in <module>
    import ccm
ImportError: No module named ccm
I tried rebuilding ccsm, but no soap.

It's probably worth noting that I also had to build Orbit2 and GConf before I could continue with the basic build instructions.

I've googled around, and the best I can find was to recompile ccsm, which I've done a couple of times.

Am I missing something obvious?

Try setting PYTHONPATH to /usr/local/lib/python2.6/site-packages before running ccsm and see if that works. If not, show us the output of 'find /usr/local/ -type d -name ccm'

Thanks for you reply. There was no PYTHONPATH set, so I did as you suggested, and set it after setting it to the proper location. Not sure why it's not picking it up.

Code:
$ echo $PYTHONPATH
/usr/local/lib/python2.6/site-packages
$ find /usr/local/ -type d -name ccm
/usr/local/lib/python2.6/site-packages/ccm
$ ccsm
Info: No sexy-python package found, don't worry it's optional.
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/local/bin/ccsm", line 100, in <module>
    import ccm
ImportError: No module named ccm

Just out of curiosity, why did you install ccsm in /usr/local and not /usr?

It wasn't really a conscious decision. I used src2pkg to create the packages, using the source from the afore mentioned post. This is where things ended up. Is that a problem?

Thank you! Building the package that way worked. Not meaning to press the issue, but I'm not an expert about building Slackware packages and I'm interested in learning. Do you have an idea about why this made the difference?

The kind support offered here was much appreciated.
