Cant launch Ethereal in Gnome as root.

Hi all,

I recently changed distros from RH9 to Slackware 10. So far I am quite impressed with what I have seen except from a couple of niggling points. When I create a launcher on my toolbar, for instance Ethereal, it only loads it with my own permissions. Which is a nuisance as you can imagine, as it needs root privilages to operate properly. I use Dropline Gnome as my desktop but I noticed that if I am in KDE when I create a launcher for the program, it automatically prompts me for the root password ( which doesn't happen in Gnome ). Anyone?

Thanks in advance for any help....

I have just had a look at the sudo readme, Phew! it is pretty complex at bits, though I am sure with the way you said "add sudo to the command" that its as easy as the way you said it. ( : ) do I actually have to edit the sudoers file with visudo or is there a simple way..

Thanks,

deft.

just pico sudoers - but that's me.
I hate vi with a passion.
I'm not writing code, though, so that may be why....
