Cannot get sym link from java to firefox to work

Hi I have just went current with my slack and updated kernel to 2.6.10 and installed dropline. So far everything is ok except now I cannot use java with firefox. I have tried to put the sym link from firefox plugins dir to my java plugin that i need. But when I start firefox and go to sites that require java the plugin finder pops up. When I look at the sym links properties it says link is broken. This is driving me crazy. Thanks for this great forum, I have learned so much from the wealth of info here.

You might try adding it to the ~/.mozilla/plugins directory. I had the problem when I tried to add it into /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins. I can't remeber if theres 2 directories you can use but, the path to my java plugin is: /usr/lib/java/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so. Good luck!

Kelean,

Typing about:plugins in the address bar of Firefox will show you if it's loaded correctly.

Thank you Brian I was trying to use
/usr/lib/java/jre/plugin/i386/ns7-gcc29/libjavaplugin_oji.so
It is working fine now. Amazing how well the link to right file works!!! The more I learn about linux the more learn how dumb I can really be. Thanks for the help.
