can,t boot slack after kernel upgrade.

hello, there i have upgrade the kernel 2.4.24 of slack to the one recompiled in slack site, the one that is 2.4.25, ok that,s no problem. the problem is i forgot to after upgrade do /sbin/lilo and no i can,t boot into my slack, who could i enter to my /dev/hda and do sbin/lilo i tried whit the slack CD1 install that work as an rescue disk too but in the boot prompt i can,t do:

boot: mount /dev/hda /mnt

and i can,t use bare.i kernel image cause in the boot process it gives me kernel panic message.

Please help.-

I am sorry if I misunderstand what you are saying.

Boot from your CD at the boot prompt type linux=/dev/hdxx noinitrd ro
the /dev/hdxx should be your root partition of your slack install. after it boots, login in as root and type lilo.

Hello again, i solved my problem i use CD1 in the boot prompt i just give enter, and in the login prompt i put the word root and enter, then instead of go to the cf disk stuff i use

mount /dev/hda1 /mnt


chroot /mnt /sbin/lilo

and voila lilo run, and my new kernel 2.4.25 was detect. i restart and here i am using my slacky which i love so much.

but thanks, i can,t make a lot of things if i won,t read your post in this forum.
