Can I make KDE fonts look better?

I'm not sure if this should go under Slackware or Software....

I am running Slack 10 on my notebook... and I have always been a Gnome user... but I'm giving KDE a shot under slack..

I can't help but notice that the fonts under KDE are so crisp (almost pixelated) and choppy.... with no anti-aliasing... Is there a way to turn on anti-aliasing and make the KDE fonts look nice a pretty like GNOME fonts..??

KDE 3.something introduced antialiased fonts.

From the control centre, go to Appearance and Themes and select Fonts. At the bottom of the panel, there's a section for antialiasing, with a checkbox to turn it on and off.

hmm.. it doesn't seem to work... i set the anti-aliasing and then logged out of KDE and restarted it....

I still get the choppy kind of text in all the menus and window titles and whatnot...
