Can I Install TrueType Fonts On Slack?

Hey guys... I was just wondering, I searched through google and only found that you can install truetype fonts from microsoft through rpm's. Anyways... I was wondering if I could install truetype fonts on slack and if so, where to put them. Thanks in advance.

you can install ANY truetype font you want (not just an RPM) if you dual boot with windows, you can copy any of the truetype fonts to the TTF directory in /usr/X11/lib/X11/fonts/TTF (to make the fonts systemwide), there are a few symlinks pointing to the same location in /usr/X11R6/lib and /usr/X11/lib

if you just want to make the fonts usable for a certain user just make a .fonts directory in the users home directory and copy the fonts in to there...

run fontconfig afterwards to make them recognised by the system...

I think the command for updating fonts is fc-cache.
