btw they will add support for alt+shift in kde 4 as I reported this in kd mailing list

Hello there, can you also try us+el, this is working for me. We have exactly the same "option"'s

BUT

I don't using KDE but ICEwm in Slakcware 10.1

I don't know if you already know this (if you do then just ignore this post) but if you want to see a flag/language indicator in the tray you can try "keyboard switch" (KKBSwitch). You can get it here
