Can't start Tint2 as regular user

If I start tint2 as root it works, if I try as spoovy, it segfaults.

Code:
bash-4.1$ tint2
real transparency off.... depth: 24
xRandr: Found crtc's: 2
xRandr: Linking output LVDS with crtc 1
tint2 : nb monitor 1, nb monitor used 1, nb desktop 4
tint2 : pixmap background detection failed
Segmentation fault
bash-4.1$ su -
Password:
root@darkstar:~# tint2
real transparency off.... depth: 24
xRandr: Found crtc's: 2
xRandr: Linking output LVDS with crtc 1
tint2 : nb monitor 1, nb monitor used 1, nb desktop 4
tint2 : pixmap background detection failed

Any idea why this is?

Thanks

Spoov

Which tool you use to set background image?

I use 'feh' and never found a bug in tint2.

I haven't got that far yet, I might use feh, or nitrogen.

It should work regardless though, it does as root.

I've checked and double checked file permissions, but everything seems ok. What am I missing?
