Can't make Playonlinux run...

Hi there,

I am trying to install Playonlinux on slack 13.37 and I installed it through slackbuild. But when I try to run it, it hangs at this message:

Code:
bash-4.1# playonlinux
PlayOnLinux v3.8.12

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/share/playonlinux/python/question.py", line 21, in <module>
import wxversion, os, getopt, sys, urllib, signal
ImportError: No module named wxversion
/usr/share/playonlinux/lib/main: line 324: [: =: unary operator expected
any help please? I am trying to run MS OFFICE 2007 through Playonlinux.

Seems to me that you don't have wxPython installed. If you use SlackBuilds you also have to check for the dependencies.

This requires wxPython, wine, and cabextract.

Follow the Tree

Greetz ^^ This! I installed Wine with all of the 2ndaries and tertiaries installed beforehand and I have to say a necessary evil is not so evil anymore. It works very well. In fact, IMHO, better than Gnome on Slack.

Funny I was able to install Playonlinux (after isntall Wmpython, thank you for the tip) and later Msoffice 2007. However the fonts were really ugly and i couldn't insert the Office key...Running a MS program in slackware is a little strange and funny..I need to improve font rendering and find a way to insert the serial of MSO 2007.

Here's a blog entry by Alien Bob that may help with the font rendering

I have MS Office 2007 running here without the use of PlayOnLinux. I just installed it using wine 1.2.2 from slackbuilds and then using winecfg set the riched20.dll to (native, builtin) in order for power point to run. All other programs from Office work fine.
