Can't Hibernate in Slackware 14.0!

I seem to be encountering quite a few problems with Slackware (14.0). My most recent problem is that I can't get Slackware to hibernate. Unfortunately for me, hibernation is something I can't live without!
I've made the necessary changes to lilo.conf (append="resume blah blah blah") and my swap partition is a little over twice the size of my RAM.
I have tried hibernating from the KDE menu and I have tried it from the command line with "pm-hibernate" based on the suggestion here: http://www.slackwiki.com/Hibernate. The machine shuts down without a problem, but when I restart, my session hasn't been saved! Instead, I find myself in front of a plain desktop once again.
Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so, how did they solve it?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Danke schön.

Hi,
did you run lilo (as root from command line) after making changes to lilo.conf?

Problem was probably Grub bootloader

I appreciate the response slacksam.
Actually, turns out my problem was probably my Ubuntu Grub2 bootloader. It seems you have to put a resume entry in the grub.cfg file. These two links looked like they might have been helpful: http://superuser.com/questions/38314...om-hibernation
and http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-a-4175460112/.
I say they "looked" like they might have been helpful because I never got to try them. I couldn't boot into my Ubuntu partition. I guess I had messed it up while tinkering with other things earlier!
Anyway, I'm now using the Slackware lilo bootloader and resume is working beautifully, as expected!
