Taken from Linuxpackages.net (http://www.linuxpackages.net/pkg_details.php?id=5348) : "libdvdread >= 0.9.4 lame >= 3.96 xvidcore >=1.0.1"
Those are the libraries you need to get (they should be on linuxpackages.net too).

salviadud 02-22-2005 08:45 PM

well, thats a start, but, where do those libraries go???

gbonvehi 02-22-2005 08:46 PM

Just download lame as you downloaded mplayer (this is the link to lame: http://www.linuxpackages.net/pkg_details.php?id=3257) and install it the same way as mplayer (I assume you used installpkg or pkgtool).

salviadud 02-22-2005 09:00 PM

will this ever end...

mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libcdda_interface.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

those darn libraries....

gbonvehi 02-22-2005 09:15 PM

Lol
You need cdparanoia for that :) (it must be needed by one of the libraries you've just installed :P )

salviadud 02-22-2005 09:21 PM

thats not in a package, so i should just install from source?

gbonvehi 02-22-2005 09:23 PM

You can compile from source or get the package from your Slack CD (cdparanoia comes with Slack) or here: http://www.slackware.com/pb/searchfi...dparanoia&w=on

You might want to update your shared libraries after installing all of that by running ldconfig as root
