Though I'm sure it will output the same thing, I meant to say glxinfo, could you show me that?

And that's with LIBGL_DEBUG set to verbose?
If so that may be very helpfull.

It says I've got to have libGL.so that glxinfo uses pointed at /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.whatever
I had that, and I was getting an error that it said I should get if I don't have it pointed there. I decided mabye I'd try pointing it at the new mesa drivers I'd just compiled. It kicked my FPS back up to 280ish, but after I got rid of the first error via that, I ran into another, it didn't mention
libGL: OpenDriver: trying /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/radeon_dri.so.

Which appearntly it's supposed to, so I reverted back to the default X libGL drivers, but I'm stuck in this place. I've got the libGL drivers but I'm getting the errors it says I should only get if I'm not using the default X drivers. I actually get a combination of 2 errors they say I can get...

I get
Code:
libGL error: dlopen /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/radeon_dri.so failed
   (/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/radeon_dri.so: undefined symbol: _glapi_noop_enable_warnings)
and just after that I get
Code:
libGL error: unable to find driver: radeon_dri.so
I'm not quite sure where to go from here. PbO/egag, where is your libGL pointing? what's it say when you
export LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose and run glxgears?
From the DRI Wiki:

"libGL error: dlopen /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/radeon_dri.so failed
(/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/radeon_dri.so: undefined symbol: _glapi_noop_enable_warnings)

you're probably using the wrong libGL. Linux: Run ldd /usr/X11R6/bin/glxinfo and see what libGL it's finding, and make sure it's the one in /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL, or a link in /usr/lib to the one in /usr/X11R6/lib. You shouldn't have any libMesaGL* on your system."

Maybe your path is giving it the wrong libGL before the right one gets found? I think I had to do some digging about like this myself...

As requested, here is my output:

'dbourne@lucifer:/etc/X11$ export LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose
dbourne@lucifer:/etc/X11$ glxinfo

I checked the output to ldd, the output of glxinfo changed when I changed the soft link. I'll try to get screenshots up here later.

Here's the screenshot of the error I'm getting.
http://img9.org/p/?~root.jpg&secure=46010
That's with libGL pointed at the default X libGL stuff.

/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/radeon_dri.so

is that file present at your system ?

and is the date the same as the rest of the file dates in the modules dir. ?

Yes, they're all there and in order. When I redirect the symlink for libGL to the new mesa drivers I compiled I don't get that error, but I also don't get it saying it's trying to load that driver, because I couldn't compile mesa3d with
make linux-dri
the make dies when it enters the dri folder because it trys to run make and there's no makefile. From what I read on the DRI mailing lists, Mesa3d is my problem. All I need to figure out, or so I imagine, is how to get mesa3d to compile with either
make linux-dri
or
make linux-dri-x86
