Can't connect to the internet anymore...

The last time i was on my slack10 drive everythign was working perfectly, i did a shutdown command and turned off my system and switched back over to XP to do some graphic designs.
Few days go by and i decide to get back into linux so i can do whatever i needed to do, well the first thing i notice is that i cant get on the internet.
i cant do a ping or anything - so i do a su and a netconfig and re-enter my settings and nothing seems to work. The control center settings checked out fine so im kind of at loss on what i hsould do...my kernel has support for my card, theres no reason why it shouldnt be working
any guidance would be appreciated

If you have a DSL modem and/or router, turn them off for 15sec. Turn on, wait for a min or so until lights on the DSL are on then as root;
# /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 stop
# /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 start
# ifconfig (should show an ip)
DSL modems sometime get confused booting on a dual boot box. Since you netconfig'ed, you 'may' have to redo this. Don't know, not sure what you did.

'course I'm just guessing, I don't know what's your setup since you didn't give any info.

joker20, did you changed something in Linux before it stopped working? Upgraded packages, kernel?

I had hotplug intermittently loading the wrong driver for my card. I needed dmfe and it would load tulip until I blacklisted it. THe confusing thing was sometimes it would works sometimes it wouldn't. Just a suggestion

Is it showing anything in ifconfig at all?
