Can't connect to serial device

Hi,
I'm trying to connect a MFB drum machine via serial on an USB port (putty on /dev/tty/ACM0) to check and maybe update the firmware.
My user is in the dialout group but even with sudo, I can't connect to it.
The cdc_acm module is loaded.

I tried this in /etc/inittab with no success:
s1:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty -L ttyACM0 9600 vt100

I also tried to add a udev rule in /etc/udev/rules.d with no success too

What did I miss?

Thanks

Get rid of the inittab line, I don't think you want it unless the drum machine is going to login to your Linux box with username and password! Reboot after doing that.
What was the udev rule?
Did you reboot or do something to re-read the rules after you added it?
What does lsusb say after it's been inserted?
What does dmesg say when you plug it in?

Their website indicates the firmware update software is for windows only. I would assume the communication is binary and therefore Putty is not going to work even if you knew the correct baud rate or protocol.

Sorry,
This was only a misuse of putty.
I used to do that kind of things with moserial but it's not available in SBo.
So I tried hterm and everything is okay now.
Thanks
