I go to xterm and type "xchat." A network list shows up and I pick the server. When I press "Connect" I get an error in the xterm window: "xchat: symbol lookup error: xchat: undefined symbol: g_intern_static_string"
What Slackware release? What additional system libraries installed if any?
Your problem is caused by missing software, or installation of an incompatible package.
