can't compile/load nvnet module

Once I installed slackware 10, I had the internet out of the box. With slack 9 I didn't, so I was kinda surprised. However I then recompiled my kernel to 2.6.7 and I didn't have it, so I tried to just compile the module, but I get an error when doing so. Sorry I can't post everything it said, since I'm on my windows partition right now, otherwise I can't get online to post this. All I remember is it eneded with 'error 1' and something about it can't find nvnet.o the directory or file dosn't exist. I know what I'm doing would work with slack 9.1 I don't see why it wouldn't in 10, or with the new kernel. Anyone got any ideas or a similar problem?

The 2.6 kernel already has a module included for nforce NIC, called "forcedeth".

Try "modprobe forcedeth". If that doesn't work, you may need to enable it in the kernel

Don't bother trying to compile nvnet in 2.6, it's problematic and there's no need for it

Thanks, I'll try that after I recompile 2.6 again, I'm using the 2.4 right now.

Where is that at in menuconfig?
