Angry Camera w/ Slackware 11.0

Hello,

I have a Canon Powershot A85 and since i've upgraded to Slackware 11.0, I can't seem to get digiKam detect my camera. I've installed libghoto2, gphoto2 and currently running on Slackware 11.0.

I know 11.0 uses udev but since I'm using the 2.6.13 kernel I believe udev gets disabled. Not sure where to go with this. Any assistance would be gladly appreciated.

Here's the output of dmesg | tail, when the camera's plugged in:

Code:
usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 4
typing in lusb at the CLI does not return anything.

TIA

Here is a post on how I did it. It took me a little digging to find how to use libgphoto2 & udev.
Regards,
Bill

So considering udev gets disabled when Slackware boots, will this work. Because I tried your post, but I can't even get digikam to detect my camera if I run as root.

I'm sorry. I can't help much except with udev. I do remember that there is a file. in /etc/hotplug/usb, that sets the group & permissions on the camera. Be sure that your user is in the group & that the permissions are sane.

Bill

No worries, you've pointed me in the right direction. I'm thinking of just upgrading to kernel 2.6.15, maybe with udev enabled i'll have more of a luck getting my camera recognized by digikam.

Thanks for all your help
