Calligra Words and spell checking

Hi, I am with an annoying issue: Calligra spell checking simply doesn't work. I am running slackware64 14.1 with the latest KDE (4.13.3 provided by Alienbob).

Code:
pedro@slack [~] $ ls /var/log/packages/ | grep calligra
calligra-2.8.5-x86_64-1alien
calligra-l10n-pt_BR-2.8.5-noarch-1alien
As you can see, I am trying to type in brazilian portuguese and the behaviour is rather erratic: it either gives me no suggestions for words that are clearly mispelled or when it gives me suggestions it is another language (mostly english). In the example on the attachment it marked almost all words as mispelled (and most of them are correctly typed).

EDIT: When I open an archive, whenever I click on a line it triggers autocorrection and it marks almost everything as wrong :/
EDIT2: Some words are automatically changed in a correct way, the only I've seen working so far is 'nao' becoming 'não' (the expected behavior, it means "no" in Portuguese).
EDIT3: In comparison, side by side, LibreOffice and Calligra Words. I corrected the whole text with LibreOffice. (on second attachment). LibreOffice works fine, Calligra don't.

Heya. I am not an expert on this topic, but is your language installed for aspell?
try

aspell dump dicts

to check for it.

hunspell could be the culprit too, but I have even less experience with those. It just seems to crop up the most on the bugs.kde.org tracker concerned spell checking errors like yours.

Well, I don't have them installed.

Code:
pedro@slack [~] $ aspell dump dicts
en
en-variant_0
en-variant_1
en-variant_2
en-w_accents
en-wo_accents
en_CA
en_CA-w_accents
en_CA-wo_accents
en_GB
en_GB-ise
en_GB-ise-w_accents
en_GB-ise-wo_accents
en_GB-ize
en_GB-ize-w_accents
en_GB-ize-wo_accents
en_GB-w_accents
en_GB-wo_accents
en_US
en_US-w_accents
en_US-wo_accents
pedro@slack [~] $ ls /var/log/packages/ | grep aspell
aspell-0.60.6-x86_64-1
aspell-en-6.0_0-noarch-4
So I guess just installing the pt-BR package will work?

Well, it still doesn't work.

It highlights (in red) what is wrong but it doesn't correct.
