Calligra Sheets hangs on trying to open spreadsheet

I opened Calligra Sheets and started a spreadsheet and then saved it. Now it won't open it. Any help would be very much appreciated. I have pasted the readout from Bash below:

When I tried to submit this post with the full bash output I got: "The following errors occurred with our submission: You have included 22 images in your message. You are limited to using 6 images so please go back and correct the problem and then continue again. Images include use of smilies, the BB code [img] tag and HTML <img> tags. The use of these is all subject to them being enabled by the administrator."

So, I have just pasted the part of the bash output that looks to me as if it could be the problem:

sheets(8079)/kdeui (KAction) KActionCollection::setComponentData: this does not work on a KActionCollection containing actions!

I have just reinstalled slackware and after creating a non-root user the first thing I did was open Calligra and create a short spreadsheet and save it. Now I can open it from the command line and from the KDE applications GUI but when I click on the spreadsheet document in the Dolphin file manager it tries to open but fails. I get a KDE crash handler window saying Calligra closed unexpectedly.

This means I can use the program so I will do that.

Calligra Sheets hangs on trying to open spreadsheet

I used to use that and really liked it but I downloaded it from slackbuilds.org and after that the computer kept running out of memory. That is why I reloaded Slackware and gave Calligra another try.

I am unable to duplicated this problem.

I was able to open an existing LibreOffice spreadsheet in Calligra without incident on Mint 17. (I am currently on the road.)

I created a test spreadsheet in *.ods format in Calligra, saved it, and was able to open it without incident from within Calligra Sheets, from the right-click menu in my file manager, and from the command line.

Gnumeric is another option, which is also available on SBo.

I don't think your input there really warranted resurrecting the thread
