cable modem connection fails when rss feeds are recieved.

I am using mozilla-firefox's sage plugin to read rss feeds. Each time I get a time I update a newsfeed from a site, my internet connection goes down. And the 'enet' light on my cable modem goes off. My request for help is two-fold. first, anybody have this prob with sage before? and secondly, how do i restart the dhcpd in slackware without having to reboot. Each time I attempt to find answers concernenig restarting the dhcpd service, my interent connection goes out. Thanx for any help in advance.

Best Regards, CHOW

To bring DHCP back up quickly, you can run the command:

dhcpcd -t 10 eth0

Assuming eth0 is the interface you want to bring up.

You can also add the "-h hostname" swtich to add your hostname to the router/server's DHCP Clients List (if it has one).
