Bus error! related to python copy_reg?

python installed during slackware setup from a dvd (with correct md5 checksum)

python -v

import copy_reg # precompiled from /usr/lib64/python2.6/copy_reg.pyc
Bus error
before "Bus error", it stalled a few seconds.

I googled it, but less useful information was found.

Try removing /usr/lib64/python2.6/copy_reg.pyc. That will force python to recompile the module when it's needed.
