Burning DVDs with Slack10.2

I have just updated my old CD-RW with a Sony DVD+/-RW. Now, going to XCDRoast, realised I didn't have a clue what to do to burn a DVD back-up. From the Slack10.2 disks I did install the DVD-RW tools.

I would appreciate a little guidance on how I am to proceed with burning DVDs. Any experience worth sharing?

Cheers

Hi,
I can't remember what my trouble with xcdroast was, but I have been using K3B for quite some time now.
It is real simple to operate and will create a "data DVD" easily.
There is a package for it in the 'extra' directory in 10.2 (both on the cd and the mirrors).

I have to second that. I always like xcdroast, but I think my problems started with the 2.6 kernel, I really don't remember exactly. I switched to k3b, and that's what I use now.

Thanks guys. I've downloaded and installed k3b. It keeps giving me a warning message about the advisability of running it with root privileges ... however, running su and executing k3b from the command line is getting me a no file or directory error response. Go figure. How critical is it to run it with root privileges?

d00bid00b,

Look at that message again. It probably says that cdrdao should be run with root privileges.
