Funny, I am currently listening to "Sense of Purpose" by Pop Group... near opposites. Luckily we are only musical opposites ;-)

I beg to slightly differ. Everybody has one, yes. But opinions can be shared.

are you a small Scherzkeks because you like scherzos
ensuring that all packages can be recompiled wit the delivered source would be indeed a new way of thinking for Slackware, I am astonished that you did not know that.
