Building an Older Xorg Package on Current

I'm trying to build an older version of the xorg package. I am running slackware-current and I'm trying to use the AMD proprietary drivers, but they don't support xorg 1.18 yet, so I'd like to temporarily roll back my installation to a previous version of xorg until AMD releases drivers that support 1.18.

How do I compile and create a package of a previous xorg version?
Alternatively, I know that xorg 1.17.4 was the previous version used in current before November 15. The package isn't available anymore (and it probably wouldn't help, due to the eudev change), but would the slackbuild help facilitate the build, and where would I find it?

I posted a tutorial on the other thread, "Failed installing ati proprietary driver". You can find it here.

I've installed the things from this to

To answer your question, in Slackware-current, xorg is too new to build the proprietary drivers. They do not yet have support for xorg 1.18. I believe the OSS drivers will work normally, but if you want to run proprietary drivers, you'll either need to run 14.1, downgrade xorg (as mattallmill suggested), or run the OSS drivers and wait until AMD adds support for xorg 1.18.
