$ lsusb
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 187c:0515 Alienware Corporation

Note the number after Bus ignoring leading zeroes and replace $BUS with it in the following:

echo 'on' > "/sys/bus/usb/devices/usb$BUS/power/control";

or

echo 'on' > "/sys/bus/usb/devices/$BUS-*/power/control";

Does either turn your mouse back on?
i tried this but it aint helping much...my mouse goes to suspend state again...

I would suggest either removing powertop, or setting all the tunables in powertop to BAD. Or at least all the USB-related tunables.

i know this is a pretty old thread but i want to update what i had done so long......
i did a fresh install of slackware....

still the issue persists....later i found that my laptop touchpad mouse was the one causing the issue as it was sending events for right click in frequent intervals so i just turned it off and switched to a new usb mouse and i am feeling alright for a couple of days now....
