I've never used Kompare until just now, but are you saying that when you browse for a file, it doesn't show any? It is working for me. Are you sure you clicked "Select File" and not "Select Folder"?
It looks like there may have been some difficulty getting KCompare working in Plasma5 since it was so long in coming back. It wasn't even included in any 5.20 build. I really missed it recently rather a lot for dealing with so many .new files. I'd really be a lot happier if basic configs like rc.inet1.conf, rc.local, etc that are most commonly customized by Users and rarely contain any substantive changes, were left alone, unless there was some functional alterations. It will also be nice when KCompare works as expected.
I'm still on 5.20.12. How is you guys are on 5.21?

My fault.
Yes it works when I select "Select File" instead of "Select Folder"
