buggy kompare in Plasma 5.21.2

problem re-appeared:
kompare does not show any files (folders are visible) but if I enter exact filenames to compare comparison works.

I've never used Kompare until just now, but are you saying that when you browse for a file, it doesn't show any? It is working for me. Are you sure you clicked "Select File" and not "Select Folder"?

It looks like there may have been some difficulty getting KCompare working in Plasma5 since it was so long in coming back. It wasn't even included in any 5.20 build. I really missed it recently rather a lot for dealing with so many .new files. I'd really be a lot happier if basic configs like rc.inet1.conf, rc.local, etc that are most commonly customized by Users and rarely contain any substantive changes, were left alone, unless there was some functional alterations. It will also be nice when KCompare works as expected.

I'm still on 5.20.12. How is you guys are on 5.21?

I've just tested Kompare from the -current's KDE Applications 20.12.3 and it works as expected.

BTW, probably about this program talks the OP, right?

Because there's no such thing like Kompare on Plasma 5.21.2, which is the KDE Plasma desktop itself...

https://download.kde.org/stable/plasma/5.21.2/ <-- no Kompare there!

https://download.kde.org/stable/rele...e/20.12.3/src/ <-- Kompare is there!

Fine, thank you!

The KWin had its 3D engine rewritten and it works quite well both on Wayland/Plasma5 and X11/Plasma5.

Also, the new Application Launcher is really nice. Same for the sensor widgets.

I use Kompare quite often. Usually via Dolphin and within Kate. I have no issues. Just checked it as standlone, works here with no issues.

Applications 20.12.3
Kompare Version 4.1.20123

My fault.
Yes it works when I select "Select File" instead of "Select Folder"

I am sorry for the confusion.
