Bug report: K3B and translations

Hi,

This is a little bug report. Slackware 14.1 is shipping a development version of the K3B burning software. This version comes without any localization strings. As a result, even if the whole KDE desktop is displayed in, say, french or german, K3B's menus are only displayed in english.

For my own use as well as in my package repositories, I've downgraded to the latest stable release, which contains all the translations. This version works perfectly, I'm burning CDs and DVDs on a daily basis.

Suggestion: maybe the version shipping with Slackware could be rebuilt with the translation files from the release?

Cheers,

Niki

Hello kikinovak,

This problem has been already reported in this thread : http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ng-4175460482/

Unfortunately it doesn't seems to be an easy way to retrieve translations for this version.
The work-around is to use the po files of the last stable version with may be some missing translations.

I think Didier Spaier has more information.

Yes, and the information it provides is outdated. That's why I posted a new thread. I admit I'm a bit puzzled, because Slackware usually focuses on stable point releases. Xfce for example has many updates in the 4.11 branch, but Slackware still ships 4.10, since this is the official stable release. I wonder why this policy doesn't apply to K3B.
