Bug in vi?

I typed $ crontab -e, to edin my cron jobs. It opened vi with empty document. After my editting it looked like that:
10 * * * * /home/ivanatora/nmaping
I hit ESC to go in command line mode and then I got something like that:
10 * * * * /home/ivanatora/nmaping10 * * * * /home/ivanatora/nmaping10 * * * * /home/ivanatora/nmaping10 * * * * /home/ivanatora/nmaping10 * * * * /home/ivanatora/nmaping10 * * * * /home/ivanatora/nmaping10 * * * * /home/ivanatora/nmaping10 * * * * /home/ivanatora/nmaping
And so on... So is it a bug, or I'm worng with something?

If u typed 100 then followed a insert command and typed:
"sfglajkwehntigb wegjw'th'wtrhjwrthowernenet gsrgwerwtwhgtrwhrytyrehyjtuyh"
and press ESC after that then that insert command will be done 100 times, that could be wut u had done ..
