Bug in Ghostscript 8.71 ?

Hello there !

On Slack64 13.1, Ghostscript 8.71 look bugged...

Everytime I try to print I got :

May 26 23:51:56 Ludwig kernel: gs[14726]: segfault at 1a0b000 ip 000000000079bbf2 sp 00007fff5bd61d50 error 6 in gs[400000+468000]

in messages file and got also a full black page...

Downgrading to ghostscript 8.70 (and fonts) from Slack64 13.0 solve the problem...

I use Epson cx3200 gutenprint driver with cups.

Any suggestions to solve the problem ?

Thanks

Philippe

Try this -
Bug report http://bugs.ghostscript.com/show_bug.cgi?id=691203
The above bug report has a patch attached which was committed to ghost script in svn.

Since I could not find a slackbuild for ghostscript, also downgraded to 8.7 - problem solved.

The SlackBuild is in the sources directory. source/ap/ghostscript/

Strange how this only effects specific printers. Everything works fine here with 2 Samsung ML-1740's, and a few Epson IJP's.

Wasn't this issue already fixed in the 13.1/patches?

patches/packages/ghostscript-8.71-x86_64-3_slack13.1.txz: Rebuilt.
Merged an upstream patch from Till Kamppeter to fix printing black pages
with CUPS and certain printers.

Yeah. I just noticed that. Somehow it didn't occur to me to check the patches directory first. It has been that kind of day.

hehe. Yep that happens on occasion.

No worries. I just wanted to confirm that you weren't having a problem with the updated package.
