Bug# 430085 xserver-xorg-video-i810 versions

Hello all,
I'm way over my head here as far as understanding what the real deal is. But here's the problem.
I had a one heck of a time getting X running on a old P111 dell machine with slackware 12 and when I did manage to get things working I had several errors. I googled around and found that there was several post on the xserver-xorg-video-1810 version bug that mimick my problem.
Now, I don't understand what if anything I can do or even how to go about updating if possible.
Most of the post I read was in debian so I may just have something wrong but anyway here's the errors.
This is just from notes I wrote down, that machine is not hooked up to the internet and I didn't read them into a file so I don't have the actual errors.

Unable to read from DVOI2C_E slave 112
Unable to read from DVOI2C_E slave 236 ( i think )
I830 Vblank Pipe Setup Failed 0
also, theres something about sil164 problem.

Has anyone else had fun with this yet ????
