BT mouse doesn't reconnect in fresh installed slack12.1

After Slack 12.1 installation
mouse connection with
"hidd --connect BT_ADDRESS" works fine as in Slack 12.0.

After box restart or mouse switch off-on - doesn't work and
"hidd --show" - empty
while (if mouse moved)
"hcitool con":
> ACL BT_ADDRESS handle 11 state 1 lm MASTER

Thanks!

hidd is no longer starting automatically in Slackware via rc.bluetooth. I do have the same problem, but haven't come to take a closer look. You can try adding the hidd related options from /etc/rc.bluetooth.conf of Slackware 12.0 back and see if that changes anything.

It's not that easy as I understood:

1. The hidd was not on in rc.bluetooth.conf in Slack 12.0,
but after "hidd --connect BT_ADDRESS" it managed to work by UDEV (most probably)

2. I you try to start hidd via rc.bluetooth or manually (hidd --server) it says:
"Can't listen on HID control channel: Address already in use"

3. The strange (extra) mouse dev presented in /dev/input/
If you have no mouse there is mouse0 there,
if you have just the touchpad by psmouse module it will be
mouse0 and mouse1 already,
after "hidd --connect BT_ADDRESS" and BT mouse connected mouse2 appears.

So, one mouse device seems to short circuit future events (HIDD?).

So, I had a quick look

Code:
# Start hidd (allowed values are "true" and "false")
HIDD_ENABLE=true

# Arguments to hidd
HIDD_OPTIONS="--server"
This is was I had in my rc.bluetooth.conf in Slackware 12.0, regarding hidd.
After I did the first connect manually, it has always detected my Bluetooth mouse automagically.

Yep, I had that too. But for some reasons not always and it did work nonetheless. So whatever it is, it's not stopping you from using the mouse.

And for the setup: I have Laptop and mostly use the touchpad. The Bluetooth mouse did connect flawlessly and I could also use both in parallel (So I did not for example have to disable the touchpad)

Thumbs up

Code:
# Start hidd (allowed values are "true" and "false")
HIDD_ENABLE=true
It says:
"Can't listen on HID control channel: Address already in use"
and doesn't work!
One need restart BT services:
"rc.bluetooth restart"
than no stupid messages and mouse connects.

Code:
# Arguments to hidd
HIDD_OPTIONS="--server"
Seems to meanless as rc.bluetooth has:
Code:
        if $HIDD_ENABLE && [ -x "$HIDD_EXEC" ] ; then
                $HIDD_EXEC $HIDD_OPTIONS --server || true
                echo -n " $HIDD_NAME"
This is was I had in my rc.bluetooth.conf in Slackware 12.0, regarding hidd.
After I did the first connect manually, it has always detected my Bluetooth mouse automagically.

The same in my Slack12.0 was.

I had the same with 12.0 but 12.1 throws it always and don't start service

Hello All,

For the moment I have found the only way to get it work by restarting bluetooth services from rc.local:
Code:
/etc/rc.d/rc.bluetooth restart
Than it works.
If somebody knows more elegant way please let know.
Thanks.
