Brother HL-2140 will not print on Slack64 13.0...
Hey all, I installed Slackware64 13 earlier today, and everythings working great, except for my printer, a Brother HL-2140. No matter what driver I try, it will not print, and Brother doesn't have any x86_64 drivers out there. Does anyone know what I can do to get my printer working? Thanks

Try using some of the CUPS drivers for the previous versions of the printer like the 1240. I have a 2170W and am happily using the 1270 drivers.
Hope this Helps.

Hi fedoralinuxjunkie,
I also have an HL-2140 which runs very well on the 32bit Slackware 13.0 but I know next to nothing about the structure of a 64bit system. Thread is here.

Thanks for the quick replies.
C-Sniper, I tried your advice and used all the other drivers, and could not get it to work still. I was using the HL-2060 driver on my other Linux OS's.
Andrew: I looked at your thread and followed all advice there, but still to no avail.

Hi,
You can mark the thread as solved as the OP via the 'Thread Tools'. That way whenever a LQ user searches for solutions then the thread will be marked as [SOLVED] thus providing a good indicator.
