Post Broken sound on KDE with phonon-gstreamer since KDE 4.14.3 in -current

First of all, thanks for all the great updates this week with kde 4.14.3 in -current !
xorg, mesa and other updates made my system smoother, cleaner (no more artefacts on X with AMD 7750) and better integrated (KDE Connect and other thingies that alienbob already released on his repo)

I'm still having 2 problems though, I managed to solve one this morning that needs patching (qt)

Like explained in this thread http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-a-4175527066/ it seems qt (webkit part) links against gstreamer 0.10 for video playback while phonon links with gstreamer 1.x.
Since ABI is incompatible I get this kind of errors
Code:
[...] assertion `GST_IS_MINI_OBJECT (mini_object)' failed
I managed to make everything work by disabling video support in the webkit component of qt, another solution would be to replace it completely with a new version (?)

Here is the very small patch attached, hopefully it will be integrated by Pat sometimes soon

BTW, if you can't listen to mp3 or non-free audio formats in amarok or kde apps, don't forget to build/install gst1-libav (available on SBo)

I still have an issue with new KRDC that uses xfreerdp instead of rdesktop completely but I'll open another thread for this.

This same libgst problem is preventing X from loading. Seems it needs 0.10 and not 1.0 version.

In that case you probably forgot to install the new package gstreamer0 (and gst-plugins-base0 and gst-plugins-good0) which now offer the 0.10 version.

Thanks, yep that was the problem. Stupid mistake by me -- installed and all is fixed now.

Thumbs up

Fixed in -current as of May 4th, 2015 (Starwars day )

->
l/qt-4.8.6-x86_64-3.txz: Rebuilt.
Upgraded the WebKit components to version 2.3.4, which uses gstreamer-1
instead of gstreamer-0. This should fix conflicts with programs that
use both WebKit and phonon. Thanks to Heinz Wiesinger.
