broadcom-wl with kernel 3.10.5
Trying to build the broadcom-wl driver with the later kernel provided in current (3.10.5). I found a patch on the Gentoo site, but I can't seem to get it to work. Has anybody been successful in getting this to build?

I have the Broadcom-sta driver working with that kernel on --Current with the Broadcom BCM4312 chipset.

Back when I was setting it up, I had no luck with the Broadcom-wl.

I have a long thread on LQ from when I was setting this up; some of the responses to it might help you:

I think the error is due to the new c++ compiler.

Please post the error messages. They may help someone help you.

I was able to get a working patch from Arch.

I went here and downloaded their tar file from here. The gzip file will contain the linux-recent.patch file. Copy that into your SBo source directory where you are going to build the broadcom-wl driver.

Modify the SlackBuild to include the patch like this:

patch -p1 < $CWD/linux-recent.patch
Comment out any other previous patch. I'm using the SBo from the SlackBuilds website. Module loaded fine and all wireless connections now show up.

I will mark this thread a SOLVED! Thank you frankbell for your help. :)

Glad you are running and that I could help get you headed in the right direction a little bit.

After upgrading to Slackware 14.1, I was unable to get the broadcom-sta driver to compile until I applied that patch from Arch. Thanks a lot!
