When I first installed slackware it recognised my Broadcom 10/100 network card, but now I reistalled Slack and it didn't recognised it and didn't created rc.netdevice file. I tried to reinstall slack again but nothing, still won't recognise it. I reviewed rc.modules file to uncomment card I use, but I did't find any Broadcom cards there.
The file /etc/rc.d/rc.netdevice will be created when you let Slackware look for a network card during installation. If it finds one, it will suggest to write a line "/sbin/modprobe <card driver>" into that file. What chipset is your NIC? Issue "/sbin/lspci" and post the results.
Have you re-configured your kernel or are you using a different kernel with local APIC enabled? If this is a general Broadcom issue and you haven't resolved it yet this might help.
