booting zipslack

I have just installed zipslack on a 100mb zipdisk, but i canīt get it to boot from the zip.
I have an atapi zip drive (bought yesterday).

In the faq, they told that you could boot right of with the kernel on it, but when i choose my bios to boot from zip/ls it just say "no operatingsystem on disk, press key to restart".

So far i use the bootfloppy for it, but it would be nice to boot right of the zip.

Itīs on /dev/hdd4.

A better solution would be a lilo boot floppy that allows
you select which OS you want to boot from with out
messing with BOIS settings.

One other point, why not staight slack install to the zipdisk?
You get a little better performence. I've runn slack directly
off a Jazz disk in the past.

You mean using the normal slackware install, that would be allright fr me, i donīt care about the fat32 stuff. I also tried to add it to my mbr lilo (i use debain) with the other=/dev/hdd4
But when i boot it, it just writes error x01r in a loop (or something like that..

/dev/hdd4 would be the fourth partition on the fourth drvie?

Should it be /dev/hdd1? Give the native install a shot.

It is at hdd4 (for some reason ths is an iomega thing) and also works with the bootfloppy for zipslack where i define it for hdd4 (itīs the same when i mount it on my debian. I was thinking if i could copy some of the stuff on the floppy to the zipdisk, would that work?

OK, that sounds familar. now that I think about it.
fdisk and check what parititions. then do a straight install
deleting all existing partition. At that point you root partition
should be /dev/hdd1
