Booting process stops while loading kernel
Hello everybody,
Last night I decided to upgrade to 2.6.11.9 kernel. So I downloaded the compiled version from slackware/testing/packages along with the alsa driver and kernel modules. When I rebooted my system I found it stopped a few seconds after the message Loading Linux appeared. After that I downgraded to my old 2.6.10 kernel but the problem persisted. I am sure that the 2.6.10 version is working because I was using it untill last night. Do you have any idea what is going on? I would appreciate any help. |
Problem solved, my mistake.
It seems that I will have to fine tune my system only in the early morning with a clear head. The problem was that I forgot to type lilo after the kernel upgrade. Now everything is ok...
