Boot without floppy

Hey, guys.

I installed slackware 9.0 on my laptop.
somehow, i do not have a floppy drive at all, so i didnot make a boot disk.
now the problem is that I can not boot the system. when rebooting, it go to Window XP(installed previously) directly.

What should I do?

Thanks a lot..

Boot from the CD...and then install a bootloader (LILO or Grub). :D

:) Well, Slack comes with LILO, which installs by simply typing lilo at the prompt. However, before installing it you have to configure it, which is done through liloconfig (just type liloconfig at the prompt). You can set it up in different ways, the simplest being "automatic install", where it will (DOH!) try to configure LILO automatically - all you really have to do is choose where you want LILO installed (installing to the MBR is probably the most common). If the automatic install doesn't work, you can use the "expert mode", where you manually enter the location(s) of the partition(s) to boot. Since you dual boot, you'll have to enter the Windows partition (should be /dev/hda1) and your Linux partition.

I didn't get it.
When i boot up with the CD in the cd-rom, it seems to enter an temporary system in the memory, not the I installed on hard drive. how could i enter the system I installed?

boot with the cd.
type for example
mount root=/dev/hda2 (or what ever partition u have installed Slackware)
then type liloconfig to setup the lilo boot configuration
