Bluetooth configuration
I'm running 2.6 and got bluetooth as modules installed. Selected about everything as a module. I went to Bluez and installed all the mentionend lis and tools except for bluefw which, for some reason, won't compile without error. bluefw isn't really needed so I'm not to worried about it.
To get my mobile talking to linux I've looked at some of the links offered by bluez and two seem what I want. First is ' The KDE Bluetooth Framework' (http://kde-bluetooth.sourceforge.net/html/index.html) the second 'GNOME Bluetooth Subsystem' (http://usefulinc.com/software/gnome-bluetooth/) both wil lgive me sort of what I got in win and makes it able to upload my pics and ringtones (sad, I know but just want to get it working). The KDE version is said to be very hard to compile, the gnome version is only two files. Has anyone used either of these and got em running succesfully on slack? I tried some other software before finding these and it (probably me) screwed up my system quite badly. I got my system running as I want now after a long time so I'd hope to get some info from anyone who went before me. Any pointers or tips? Regards |
Well I got it! If anyone wants to know how to get a bluetooth adapter (in my case a Belkin) talking to a T610 (other phones should work to but got none to test) just let me know and I'll post the install guide. Works very nice with the kdebluetooth framework.

I'm at work right now, but I'll post the install guide this evening. It actually works smoother then in windows with the original Belkin drivers!

Hi, can i also have a copy of the install guide for kde-bluetooth?
I have already downloaded the source code and compiled it. I tried running "sdp:/" at konqueror and i can see my mobile phone. But i can't seem to send and receive files to and from the mobile phone. The obexpush client could not "find" my mobile phone. I tried running > dcop kded According to the install i should see kbluetoothd, but i did not see it. Any idea what the problem is? Thanks in advance regards, Jaysan |
apparently, it is now possible to get/put files from/to the T610 via obex:
at the moment, you need to patch the obexftp source, though: see here for the patch: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/f...&forum_id=9713 |
