Bluetooth A2DP Phone -> PC

Hi All,

Has anybody played around with the idea to send sound from phone and play it on the PC?

I have it working the other way around but so far i was unable to do it on Slackware 14.2

To be honest the exact scenario is to use the PC as a "speaker" for either my phone or my TV but i couldn't configure bluetooth in such a way that my TV would see it as an "audio sink".

You'd need something on the PC that registered in DBus as an instance of a GATT A2DP service for that to have a chance of working. (Well, the headset portion of that stuff.)

https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/bluet...c/gatt-api.txt will mention some things; I don't know if applications such as Amarok or Audacious will do such registration.

Bluetooth is a really weird protocol; I'm writing this on my -current laptop, which doesn't have my complete 14.2 environment. I'll follow up with a comment after I move over to that machine. (That'll take longer than you can hold your breath, so don't do that.)

There are plenty of resources & HowTo's on the net - just search.
You could start with this one:

Oh, believe me i've started with google

My problem is that sdptool does not seem to work for me:

Code:
bash-5.0# sdptool records --tree local
Failed to connect to SDP server on FF:FF:FF:00:00:00: No such file or directory
or
Code:
bash-5.0# sdptool add A2SRC
bash-5.0# sdptool search --bdaddr local a2snk
Failed to connect to SDP server on FF:FF:FF:00:00:00: No such file or directory

I stumbled upon a thread here that gave me the solution.

I had to execute the below as root and now my TV can use the PC as "speaker":

Code:
hciconfig hci0 noencrypt
hciconfig hci0 piscan
sdptool add a2snk
hciconfig hci0 class 0x200404
hciconfig -a
