Block web site (slack 8.0)

Hi,

How to block for example www.nba.com web site?

I have tried to add
Quote:
127.0.0.1 nba.com
or
127.0.0.1 www.nba.com
in file /etc/hosts, but it did not help.
What i am doing wrong?

you could also run your own dns server. dnsmasq and bind both ship with slackware. see http://pgl.yoyo.org/adservers/ for more details.

For blocking sites (and ads... ), I use no-ads.pac.
Works great in Firefox, Konqueror and Opera.
