Blender (2.63a from SBo) starts fine here on Slackware -current 64 bit, using the radeon driver.
Which video hardware with which drivers are you using? How have you updated your system? |
@Tobi
I am using Slackware 14 64 - current Nvidia propitiatory driver , ( going to reinstall and try again ) I updated today , but did the blender install after the update Lawrence |
You are either using Slackware 14 or Slackware -current, but never Slackware 14 -current.
Anyways, the proprietary drivers from AMD and Nvidia replace parts of the Mesa libraries, so that your driver will break when you overwrite those libraries with a Mesa upgrade. You always have to re-install the drivers after a Mesa upgrade. |
@Tobi
Thank you for pointing out my erroneous ways .. current it is .. I reinstalled the driver and all is well and working ..\ Regards Lawrence |
