Blank screen instead of screensaver
 

I'm running slackware with kde. I set my screensaver with the "configure desktop" option in kde. I set the screensaver to start after 5 minutes. At the 5 minute mark, my screen just goes blank. When I test the screensaver, it works fine...it just won't start on it's own. Anyone know what is causing the screen to go blank instead of starting a pretty screensaver? I've tried different screensavers and variable times. The screensaver just turns the screen blank. Thank you in advance.

try enabling "display power management" in the kde display properties, that worked for me

That did the trick. Thank you! It isn't obvious to me at first glance why a screensaver depends on the power management, but I knew it had to be something simple. Again, thank you.
