Blank screen after hibernate - Slackware 12

Hi, I finally got my kernel compiled with ACPI support, but the problem is that whenever I return from hibernate it ends up in a blank screen(in x), or a prompt that I can't type anything in(virtual terminal). I have googled it and I followed this thread http://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showtopic=36728
but it still hasn't worked. Any suggestions are welcome.

Probably something about your hardware doesn't like suspend/resume.
Has it ever worked in other kernels (if you've tried it)?

No I haven't tried other kernels, I'm running 2.6.24.5

What video device driver are you using? are you using a framebuffer device driver? Most fb drivers like nvidiafb should have problems like this fixed already.

I'm using the intel driver in X, I'm not sure what frame buffer driver I'm using

Perhaps you're not using the proper or perhaps the true device driver of your card both in X and in the kernel. What card do you have?

do
Code:

lspci | grep VGA

AceofSpades19 05-04-2008 06:58 PM

the output of that command is
Code:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)

i'm sorry if you're using slack then perhaps you're already using the proper drivers.. perhaps hibernate with intel cards or chipsets are not much functional or supported yet.
