blank screen

I have compiled my new linux 2.6.8.1 kernel going by the post from DaOne. For some reason though it boots up in a blank screen. Does anybody know how to fix this problem (hopefully without reinstalling slackware 10 again)?

Just boot the old verion of your kernel - assuming you didn't delete it that is.
